![]() ![]() Last night, I decided I was going to try to score a couple badges just for grins and giggles. Even after all this time, I still don't have the 'Kill All The Rare Monsters' badge because I rarely kill Scorpios, let alone the Acidic version. I'm often without a reliable way to deal with Scorpios. But I still don't explore the whole thing. If someone's got a potion of Strength sitting next to 'em, sure, I'll go for it. Use the Magic Mapping to see where the end is and what terrain features there are, and the Mind Vision to see what folks are guarding. I try to save three Magic Mappings and three Mind Visions for the end. I have quit bolting through the Demon Halls as fast as possible, though. It just takes a little longer with the Warden. At some point, your class becomes much, much less relevant than your equipment. She goes through health potions _maybe_ a little quicker, but she does get a bonus on dew drops to help off-set that. Once you're past Goo? She's really not that much different from anyone else. When I played the Sniper, I wound up piling scrolls into my boomerang with her, though, and it worked OK. Add in that almost every class has _something_ they can put a scroll of upgrade into from the get-go, the only other real exception is the Freerunner because his ring of Shadows isn't nearly as critical to his schtick as it is the Assassin. The Warden, on the other hand, can die if she gets unlucky when ambushed by a freakin' gnoll scout. They'll need to find a decent weapon or armor, not get too unlucky against a fast crab. Just about any character can make it to Goo with just a little help. I finally finished ascending the last subclass, and was a little disappointed that while there's a badge for killing DM-300 with all eight, there's not a badge for beating the game with each. Typically I hit the last level with around 8 or so health pots on a good run. Occasionally I'll get to level 20 then take a run back down to level 6 once I've accumulated enough gold and buy out all the Pixel-Mart stock of health pots and mapping scrolls though. I actually don't "farm" them (from flies and such). I started to not farm health potions and to see how far I got. Last few games I've played, I haven't seen plate mail until really freaking deep in the game (demon halls).Īnyway, not sure what my next challenge is going to be now. I noticed that platemail seems to be very rare these days too. On a side note, I found out that the eye doesn't summon worms if you are zapping it with wands, AND every attack as an assassin is a stealth sneak attack. I think I had something like 3 wands of lightning, 1 firebolt, 1 disintegration, 1 flock and 1 poison. Level 23, 18 strength, +9 venomous longsword, +7 (I think?) splintmail/rogue garb of metabolism, +4 ring of shadows, +2 ring of power, and you really don't want to know how many wands I found. Finished assassin/rogue at game #82 (on this device - got a new phone a few months back, so in 82 games I've finished all four classes). Just figured I'd share before I head down into the demon halls.Īnd that's all four. He didn't even have the opportunity to take a swing at me. I hit him with slowness, then quite literally beat his ass into submission. I hit him with Amok, he then proceeded to take out the skeleton. Walked into the room with the dwarf king, he managed to summon the first skeleton while I ran over to the right pedestal. Went back up to the dwarf halls to finish it out, ended up finding a Wand of Amok on L19 in a crystal chest along with another scroll of upgrade which went on the Ring of Haste. ![]() Opened up my scroll holder, popped the two scrolls of upgrade on it to uncurse it and bring it up to +6. ![]() Much to my glee, it happened to identify out to be. Out popped an "onyx ring", which I proceeded to identify. I took a hike back down about 6 levels to the second of two transmutation wells and tossed it in. Wand of Slowness +2 (from the wand maker)įound the Imp, he gave me a cursed Ring of Power +4. Chilling Battle Axe +6 (used one of the transmutation wells with a scroll of upgrade on this) ![]()
